What is a speed limiter

A speed limiter restricts the maximum speed of a vehicle. Add geofence technology, a virtual boundary on a digital map, and you get a system that automatically adjusts vehicle speed based on location.

The SL900Ci ZoneSpeed Limiter combines a traditional speed limiter with geofencing technology.

When a vehicle enters a specific geographic area (a geofence zone), the maximum allowed speed for that zone is automatically activated. Once the vehicle leaves the zone, the restriction is immediately removed.

You can define up to 30 zones using the user-friendly web platform, and within each zone set three different speed levels. For example, you can specify that:

• vehicles in the loading area drive at a maximum of 15 km/h

• transport vehicles on internal roads drive at 30 km/h

• vehicles outside the site drive at 80 km/h

The speed limiter operates entirely in real time and responds immediately when a vehicle enters or leaves a zone.
